Weekly Reading Log Homework
The expectation for reading log homework is 100 minutes per week. This time can be broken up into increments that work best for you. We recommend 25 minutes each night (Monday-Thursday). Students should record minutes read each night. Parents can initial each night or sign for the week in the Friday box.
Reading log participation is also taken into account when reading grades & GLO scores are assigned for report cards.
Reading material can include library books, magazines, reading instruction websites, subject area compositions, books from home or classroom library, assigned reading passages/books and guided reading material. This reading can be shared, paired or independent.

SPELLING MENU - Choose 3 different options - Due FRIDAY
1. Rainbow Words: Write your words in 3 different colors.
2. Fancy Fingers: Use your fanciest writing to write your words with curly, dotty, or other fancy letters.
3. Spelling City: Got to the webstite http://spellingcity.com and select "Find a List" Type in my name Amanda Porter. Select my name with Gum Springs Elementary. Then select the week that we are working on. Write "Spelling City" in your agenda and have an adult sign it to say you did your words on Spelling City.
4. Spelling Cheer: Pretend you're a cheerleader and cheer out your words to an adult at home. Write "Spelling Cheer" in your agenda and
have an adult to sign it.
5. Computer Fun: Use your computer to type your words. Use different fonts and make it look really fun! Be sure to print it out and bring it Friday or you can type your words in an email and email to me.
6. Practice Test: Have an adult quiz you on your spelling words.
